Happy New Year

The AMAS Executive and Board would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Despite the pandemic, 2021 was very good as we still had many flyers attending our Balzac Airfield. The club meetings we held at the field were very well attended; our 2021 AGM that was held at The Hangar Flight Museum in Calgary was also a very well attended and successful event.

Our 2021 membership was 124 members comprising: 4 Life members, 116 Open members, 1 Associate member and 3 Junior members. We remind you that all memberships expire on December 31 and your renewal is due before the end of January if you wish to take advantage of the fee discount. Instructions are there to help with submitting your form and paying your membership fees via e-transfer. We also accept mailed in forms and cheques. You can also pay at our February meeting (last chance for the fee discount). We are looking forward to another great year in 2022. Some of the things we are looking forward to doing this year are: Fun Flys, demonstrations, presentations, special flying events, and swap meets. In the spring, we will again be sending out a member survey to give us ideas and guidance for planning our 2022 year. We really appreciated your feedback last year and encourage your participation again this year. We are a club of RC model enthusiasts run by volunteers. This is your club and we want to continue as the BEST RC Club with the Best Airfield.

Our first regular club meeting will be Tuesday, February 1, 2022. At the Genesis Centre, 7555 Falconridge Blvd NE, Calgary. Starting time is 7 pm. We will send out reminder emails closer to the date.

Do not forget that our Balzac Airfield is open all year, so install your skiis and even floats to make the best of winter RC flying as the weather permits!
